What’s Happening at The Pear…

Announcing Season 23 at The Pear!

Driven characters. Immersive productions. Transformative experiences.

Be part of a journey that will ignite your passions, challenge your perspectives, and leave you breathless with the sheer force of the human spirit, in all its glorious, messy, undeniable power.

The Pear is once again preparing to redefine South Bay theatre for what is perhaps our most important and adventurous season yet. And we need your help now more than ever.

It’s time to be transported. Are you ready?

Now Playing through May 12!

The Chinese Lady by Lloyd Suh, inspired by the true story of Afong Moy’s life, is a dark, poetic, yet whimsical portrait of America through the eyes of a young Chinese woman. The Pear is excited to host multiple special events including a post-show presentation on The Real Afong Moy, a panel discussion featuring Asian American playwrights, and an AAPI matinee and industry mixer!

Love Letters by A.R. Gurney is a moving journey between two friends whose tumultuous lives, love, trials and tribulations are chronicled in letters through the years. The Pear is proud to cast this production with multiple, real-life San Francisco Bay Area couples - with a surprising twist!

Join us for two potently poignant, lyrical and playful stories chronicling personal and powerful journeys exploring love, loss, resilience, identity and actual historical events.

The Chinese Lady and Love Letters, both directed by Wynne Chan, perform in repertory April 19 through May 12.
