About the Play: Recipient of the 2009 Tony Award® for Best Play, this dark comedy explores the thin veneer of civility that can quickly crumble under pressure, revealing primal, even savage, instincts within seemingly civilized individuals. A playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys brings together two sets of parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, tensions emerge, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters.
CASTING NOTE: Actors of all races, ethnicities and genders are encouraged to audition.

Annette Raleigh (female, 40’s) Initially presenting herself as a sophisticated member of the wealthy elite, Annette is actually on the verge of a panic attack due to the pressures of motherhood and her husband's inattentiveness.
Alan Raleigh (male, 40+) An arrogant corporate lawyer, Alan is constantly on his cell phone, prioritizing his work and self-interest over the situation at hand. He is sexist, aloof and unable to engage in genuine discussion or empathy. Always acts in his own self-interest.
